Real Life Stories

For all the negative things you here about teens in the media, we thought it would be awesome to give you two real life examples of teenagers here at McArthur who are living for something more than themselves.

Ally Randall is a student who had been in the spotlight.  She was popular and had what the world would define as a good life.  It seemed like everything was going pretty good. However, around the first of the year God began to deal with her about giving more of her life to Him.  She gave up the weekend hangouts with friends and lunch with the normal people she was accustomed to.  Ally began spending her lunch hour in the library each day with a new foreign exchange student in her school. She befriended the girl and gave her a children’s bible to help walk her through the story of Jesus. At an Encounter weekend with our youth group, Ally had the privilege of praying with her to receive Christ. Since then Ally has met and invited another exchange student. These two girls’ lives will be changed forever because Ally was willing to give up popularity and status to see someone come to Christ!

Another real story involves Philip, a high school senior. He had waited for this day; his senior prom. He got all dressed up and met his date along with the large group they were going with. When some of the activities the other students were going to do went against what Philip stands for, he called his Dad to come and get him. His date would not leave with him; he never even made it to prom.

There was something in Philip that could not stand by and be quiet. He was willing to stand alone for the cause of Christ and the conviction he holds. He went against the grain and stood against what was wrong when no one else around him did.

This helps remind me there are teenagers who really live what they say they believe. Ally and Philip are just a couple of those. They are an encouragement and their example is one worthy of following in these situations.
