We are on the threshold of the second decade of a new Millennium and the major question I think we should ask ourselves is the following:  What are we doing different today than we were doing 10 years ago?

Someone said, “Insanity is doing things the same way you have always done them, while expecting different results.”

Our Theme for 2010 is The Year of Obedience.  And, our chief thought is, what would change if we committed ourselves to obey God in every area of our lives?  Our first three sermon series for 2010 will deal with Obedience. Obedience in our stewardship; obedience to the call of God; and obedience in the secret places of our lives.

The titles of the first three sermon series are…

January – Hoarders: Dealing with our tendency to hoard the blessings and treasures of life…which over time lose their value as rust, time, and decay rob them of their worth and opportunity. Join us in the month of January, as we discover the importance of obedience in the area of managing God’s blessings in our lives.  God’s plan is to bless His Children so they can show the world via the investment of shared blessing how wonderful God truly is.  Will you let God bless others through your life or will you join the long list of those who hoard the blessings of God?

February – King Me:  Finding, following, and obeying the call of God upon your life.  Do you struggle to find God’s purpose or God’s place for you to serve Him?  Join us in the month of February as we take a look at how to understand and discern God’s call upon our lives…with the goal of applying obedience to the purpose for which God has called you.  There is a King in you and God is ready to crown you with authority to accomplish His Kingdom in your life.

March – Sin Again Island:  Dealing with obedience in the secret places of our lives; coming to the place where we avoid the temptation to escape the reality of life in our pursuit of the forbidden. We live in a post-Christian world where the culture of this world has made in-roads into the Church.  Join us for the month of March as we discuss the dangers facing us as individual believers and take active steps to become obedient in areas of past defeat.

The Challenge of Obedience is to discover the promises which God attaches to our obedience. The Bible tells us, the Promises of God are yes and amen…to those who believe; and true belief is always backed up by obedience. Deuteronomy chapters 11 and 28 are filled with both warning and encouragement to fuel our obedience. Bottom line, when we obey God, WE ARE BLESSED; and the blessings of the Lord enrich our lives and prevent us from facing sorrow and regret. Are you ready to enter the Blessing Zone?  Are you ready to take a step of faith into following God into new areas of blessing? If so, join with us beginning in January, as we begin a journey of discovery into the Blessings of God.
