OVERVIEW
The McArthur Media Ministry is an important and growing department. We currently have a multitude of ministry opportunities available for people to become involved in. No experience is necessary, but it is appreciated. If you have a desire to become involved in any capacity, we will be happy to train you. The McArthur Media Ministry has a high standard of excellence that is expected of each member during each and every production. Professionalism should be exuded from every person all the time. When this standard is followed, all benefit from a job well done and the hope that lives are changed in those that encounter it.
VOLUNTEERING
As of this time, almost all positions are manned by church volunteers.
In order to become a part of the team, prospective members must:
• Be at least 16 years old
• Be members in good standing for at least one year
• Be accepted by the Media Director for proficiency and comprehension
All camera operators will be given specific camera assignments and an
assigned schedule to follow. Likewise, a shift list is also given to
all directors so as not to overburden any one person. It is imperative
that all operators show up to their positions at least 15 minutes prior
to the start of the service. If you cannot make your scheduled
position, please inform the Media Director at least 30 minutes prior to
service to allow them to find a replacement and to give that
replacement enough time to run through pre-service checks.
Ministry Opportunities Available:
Sound Operator:
The sound board operator for the main sanctuary is a key element in our church worship.
The person has direct control over all audio output during all service, church productions, and special events.
Media Shout Operator:
This person is responsible for all images, videos, and lyrics shown on the screens during services and special events.
Audio Engineer (Video Production):
This person is responsible for the control of the audio board in the Television Control room during service. The audio output from this position is used for all internet and Television broadcast.
Tech Support Group:
This ministry helps in many different areas throughout the church, from simple computer repair and maintenance, network repair, and beyond. Some advanced knowledge required.
Camera Operator:
This person must be willing to commit to at least one service every other week. They are responsible for the control of their camera during the entire service.
Web Development:
This team consists of individuals that sole object is to make sure that the McArthur Church website is up to date and functioning as needed. The actual development and production of the web site requires prior knowledge of web development. But updating of the content can be done by anyone with just a working knowledge of computers.
Web Broadcast:
Every week we deliver a podcast (Audio) of our service on the web. We are also broadcasting video of the services every week on the web. We are looking for individuals to upload material to the church web server each week and would assist Trent Eilts (audio) and Dave Smith (video) as needed.
Production & Duplication:
This group helps in a multitude of areas. They make copies of CD and DVDs for all church services and special events. They are responsible for the printing and packaging of most media that is produced in-house.
Print Design:
As we grow, there is more and more need for quality print design and production for the different areas of church ministry. This person would be responsible for the producing high impact designs such as: letter heads, billboards, brochures, business cards, etc. Advanced knowledge and experience is highly recommended.
Special Event Production:
Several times per year we have Special Events such as Christmas and Easter. During these events we need spot light operators, production crew, light operators, screen operators, sound engineers, etc.
Technical Director:
This position in crucial to the outcome of the video production during the service. The Technical Director in stationed in the Television control room during the service. They control the output of video and announcements to monitors placed in various positions around the church building, including the foyer, rear entrance, hospitality room, Nurseries, etc. They are also responsible for the production of all audio and video broadcast, both on the internet and television. They are in direct communication with the camera operators in the sanctuary, they call camera shots, and switch between the different camera angles. Advanced knowledge and experience is highly recommended.
