Raised in a minister's home, Pastor Larry Burton spent his childhood and teenage years growing up in the parsonage listening and learning from his parents, Rev. Lester and Betty Burton, on how to balance life and ministry.  A third generational Pentecostal, Pastor Burton has a deep appreciation for God's word, the presence of the Holy Spirit and His involvement in our lives, and a great love for people.

Called into ministry at the age of 17, Pastor Burton attended Southwestern Assemblies of God Bible College in 1972 and then transferred to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  He completed his Biblical Studies through Berean Bible College.  Pastor Burton has spent the last 24 years in ministry in the Central Arkansas area.  Coming to McArthur Assembly of God in the fall of 1986, he and his family assumed the pastorate of a congregation of 17 people.  The Burton’s have spent the last 23 years loving people and watching God at work as He has grown His church from a small handful of worshippers to an average Sunday morning congregation of over 1,100 people.

Pastor Burton has a heart to share God's word in a relevant and meaningful way, and to create an environment of love and grace for people to grow as followers of Jesus Christ.  His passion is to prepare people for eternal success.
